Founded with the vision of creating a sustainable global food distribution system in North America, Alter Eco products are organic, fair trade and carbon neutral. The company sources quinoa, sugar, rice and chocolate  from a network of over 200 global farmer co-operatives in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Thailand and the Philippines. They received the 2012 Acterra Award for sustainability as well as the 3S Community Engagement award from the Global Sourcing Council. The Alter Eco team surpassed their revenue and profitability targets in 2012 and are forecasting strong growth in 2013.
